  1. Hello there,
I realise I am still a long way from retirement but I guess it would be nice to retire in the tropics. I would have a problem with not being close to my family though.
I guess I’ll see when I get there, however, I would like to live there now already, not at the age of 80 when I can’t do the things that I would love to do. Definitely, something to think about.

    1. Hi thank you for the comment. The site is still in its infancy so I hope you will continue to visit in the future and let us know how we can help serve you.

  2. Hi, I’m from the UK originally but I low life as an expat in Thailand and I see lot’s retired people coming to live here. It’s easy to get a retirement visa and like you say, thanks to the exchange rate a pension goes a lot further.

Whilst you’d be living on the poverty line in the west, you can live like a king here. It’s a no-brainer!

  3. To be honest, I can’t fault people for retiring in the tropics because for starters, it can be cheaper like you say. Secondly, life is for living, so we should make the most of enjoying ourselves. Even if it means moving to hotter climates with sandy beaches. 🙂

I certainly agree that we all have our own preferences when it comes to retirement.

Personally, I’d love to retire by the sea in the tropics. It sure beats the “not so sunny” UK lol.

    1. My wife and I did, and we have seen it done well and with many regrets. We decided to make it our mission to assist others in making their decision.
